Kentucky: Support Senate Bill 219
Contact Governor Bevin to Support Ride Operator Age Change
Please contact Governor Matt Bevin today to sign into law Senate Bill 219, a bill to lower the ride operator age from 18 to 16 in the Bluegrass State.
Federal law states that ride operators must be 16 years of age. SB219 mirrors federal law. All rides need to have equally capable ride operators and that those operators can be 16 years old. Allowing 16 year olds to operate rides will help support the tourism industry in Kentucky by allowing facilities to hire more local workers and to rely less on international workers via the J-1 Summer Work Travel Program.
Help support the attractions industry by urging the governor to sign SB219 into law.
